The "New" GAP

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to bring to light about the change in the GAP logo sign. No longer will we be seeing the signature blue box and white colored font that we associate the company with. Instead, GAP has tried to modernize the logo with a new blue exo-box on its website along with black font. This transition went on without as much as a launch party to celebrate the newly created logo. If it were me, I would pick any chance to throw a nice big shindig! Instead, the switch was made quietly online. You're probably wondering why the sudden switch? Well, a potential reason could be due to the decline in sales over recent years. This could probably be a strategic move done by GAP in order to "freshen" up their brand that has slowly been getting lost beneath the sea of other name brands. By modifying the signature logo, they could gain a much wider range of consumers.

This logo change could backfire due to the unrecognizable and unfamiliar symbol. Or it could actually boost sales if the store decides to do further reconstruction by having the company go in another sort of new direction. Maybe they'll ditch the over-priced basic plain clothes for some more bold patterns and prints....we'll see. Only time can tell...
